Near the start of my photographic journey, several years ago, I was a member of my local Royal Photographic Society group; RPS SW London.

Once a month we would meet in a room above a pub to discuss photography and share images we had recently taken. During that time the Royal Photographic Society announced their International Photographic Exhibition 160 and I remember being in awe of the quality of photography featured setting myself the goal to feature in the exhibition one day.

So it has been one of those dream moments to find out that my image 'Forty Winks' has been shortlisted from over 4000 entries for this year’s International Photography Exhibition 163.

The image comes from my series ‘A Second Helping’ which was born out of a desire to get to know my Grandma Stella better and learn about her life outside of her role as Grandmother to me.

A huge thank you goes to her and her husband David (pictured) for being very patient with me whilst creating this work!
